2-Day Uganda Chimpanzee Tracking

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe or from the airport and drive you to Kibale National Park. On the way, you’ll enjoy views of the beautiful countryside, traditional homes, and various bird species. You’ll stop for lunch in Fort Portal, a town known for its stunning landscapes and attractions. Afterward, you’ll continue to your lodge in the Crater Lake region for the night.

If you like, you can also choose to visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This area is rich with butterflies, plants, animals, and amazing birds like the Great Blue Turaco and the rare Papyrus Gonolek. You might also spot animals like Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga. You’ll have dinner and spend the night at Kibale Forest Camp or Primate Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Chimp Trekking and Return to Kampala

After an early breakfast, your guide will take you to Kibale National Park for a briefing on chimp trekking. You'll get instructions on how to behave in the forest, and then you'll be assigned to a chimp trekking group.

Your ranger guide will lead you into the forest to find the chimpanzees. Once you find them, you’ll get to watch them for an hour as they swing through the trees, eat, play, and rest. After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge to freshen up, check out, and then drive back to Kampala or Entebbe.
