Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the morning, our professional safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe or the airport. We will drive to southwestern Uganda, enjoying the beautiful scenery. Along the way, you might spot some animals near Lake Mburo National Park. We'll stop for lunch in Mbarara Town before continuing to Kabale, the closest town to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to mountain gorillas. Expect to arrive in the evening, with a possible stop at the equator. Depending on your gorilla permits, you'll check into accommodations such as Gorilla Mist Camp, Rushaga Gorilla Camp, or Lake Chahafi Resort.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules. Then, you'll start your trek into the jungle, searching for gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Spending an hour with the gorillas is a truly life-changing experience. Afterward, we'll drive to explore Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Birdnest Lodge or Arcadia Lodge.
Day 3: Return to Entebbe
Enjoy a morning breakfast by Lake Bunyonyi before transferring to Kisoro Airfield for a domestic flight back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home. Alternatively, we can transfer you by road to Kigali via the Katuna/Gatuna border if you prefer to fly out from Kigali.
