Join us for an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Rwanda and Uganda. This 5-day tour lets you compare gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Mgahinga National Park.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Day 5: Return to Kigali and depart
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arriving at Kigali International Airport, our guide will take you to Volcanoes National Park, famous for mountain gorilla and golden monkey tracking. The drive takes about 2 hours. Depending on the time, you can visit the twin lakes before checking in at Five Volcanoes Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you'll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules. In groups of 8, with a skilled park ranger, you'll trek for 3-5 hours to find the mountain gorillas. You'll spend one hour with them, taking photos and observing their behavior. Return to Five Volcanoes Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Uganda
After breakfast, you'll have a briefing on golden monkey tracking rules. You'll then trek through bamboo forests to find the golden monkeys, spending an hour with them. Afterward, you'll cross the border into Uganda and head to Mgahinga National Park. Stay at Gahinga Lodge for dinner and the night.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
After breakfast, you'll have a briefing on gorilla conservation before starting your trek in Mgahinga. The trek can last 3-6 hours, exploring the bamboo forests to find the gorillas. Relax at the lodge after the trek, with dinner and an overnight stay at Gahinga Lodge.
Day 5: Return to Kigali
You have the option to visit Lake Bunyonyi in southern Uganda, one of Africa's deepest lakes, for a boat tour and lunch at a nearby hotel. Later, you'll drive back to Kigali, arriving in the evening for your flight home.
