2 DAYS - LAKE MBURO & SCENIC BUNYONYI
Day 1: Kampala – Lake Bunyonyi:
Early set on southwestern road to Lake Bunyonyi. You will drive through a lush-green countryside dotted with breathtaking sprawling hills, and have a stop-overs at the Equator Line and lunch in Mbarara town. Later proceed to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes and most beautiful lakes in the world dotted with small islands – each with individual story. Afternoon is for a boat ride in a dug-out canoe. Other optional activities include: bird watching and visit the Pymy people groups for traditional entertainment. Retire for dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages (medium-budget) or Bunyonyi Overland Camp (low-budget), which overlook the picturesque lake – B, L, D.
Day 2: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park:
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. This unique park is an extension of the savannah grassland of Tanzania and is one of two parks with large herds of zebra. Other mammals include: the elusive Sitatunga, eland, waterbuck, Cape buffalo and hippos in the nearby lake. The park has been encroached on by local Bahima who graze long-horned cattle which are sight to behold. You will have an afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo as you relax. Later drive to Kampala arriving in the evening.
